Freddie a lo Lomo

If you work with me you might just have heard that I've bought an Iphone!! I've wanted one for ages and when my old contract ran out I took the leap. I'm loving playing around with all the apps, especially the lomo effect camera ones. Here's a picture of Freddie.

Pyrenees Hike - Circe de Gavarnie

Here are my pictures from a hike in the Pyrenees last week. We stayed at this campsite near the Circe de Gavarnie and this was the view from our tent when we woke up!

We started to walk alongside this river.

Stopped here for Diet Coke and cake.

First proper glimpse of Grande Cascade de Gavarnie - at 422m I was told it's the highest in Europe.

Started walking towards it.

Had to navigate this clump of un-melted ice.

We got closer to the waterfall - I took some more pictures later on but the camera got soaked from the spray!

Starting our way back down.

We could have taken this form of transport...

We took an alternative route back.. along this tiny path.

Which led to these amazing views as we walked around the side of the mountains.

Had to walk through some forest.

Around these rock pools.

And into the Pyrenees National Park - where there was loads of Saffron.

AWOL...

Apologies for the lack of posts recently - I've been AWOL in the south of France. I had no mobile, no internet, no Facebook and no Twitter - it was awesome!

We spent the time canoeing, hiking in the Pyrenees, sunbathing and reading. Here's a snap of an old guy on the Ile D'Oleron. More pictures to come over the next few days. I'll also update you really soon on a very exciting project which starts in October!

VW love...

I've got a slight obsession with VW camper vans at the moment - this picture is from the Tate Modern. I'm not sure I'd tie sleds behind my future purchase though.

Busking on the South Bank

I've taken a few pictures of buskers on the South Bank before - but this guy is my favourite. Who says you can't earn a few pennies by banging relentlessly on a dustbin for two hours?

Isla de Tabarca

We were recently back in Spain for my cousin's wedding (and the World Cup final!) and took some time out to go to the Isla de Tabarca - a beautiful, tiny piece of land just 15 minutes in taxi-boat from the fishing port of Santa Pola. We spent the day snorkelling, sunbathing and eating - here's a little picture I took using a cracking underwater camera we'd been lent.

We've just come back from a weekend in deepest, darkest Somerset where I had a bit of time to wander around the countryside and take geeky pictures of bugs! I love the contrast of the ladybird and the tree in this shot.
